Alecia Beth Moore known professionally as Pink has been named as the most played female artist of the 21st century, according to a chart compiled by music licensing company PPL in UK. The ranking was compiled from music usage and airplay data from UK radio stations and television channels. She came to international prominence with her debut album “Can’t take me home”, which was released in 2000. Hits such as “Just give me a reason”, “Try”,”What about us”, “Sober” and “Walk me Home”, have remained staples on radio station playlists long after their release.
In the second place came Madonna with her four – decade career, in which she has released hit records including:” True Blue”,”Ray of Light” and “Music”. After Madonna, in the third place is Katy Perry, whose known for her third album:”teenage dream”, which was one of the most popular of the 2010. The fourth and fifth of this ranking are Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
Not to be forgotten is the ranking of Albanian singers in this list.Even though she’s at a young age, Dua Lipa’s sole album has charted on the top 10 in several countries and has earned gold certification in Britain and Sweden. “New Rules” is her most successful single so far, receiving double platinum certification in many countries including Britain, Australia, USA, Italy and Sweden.In the top 20 most played female artists of the 21st century, Dua Lipa is ranked in the 14th.
Another Albanian singer could not be missing and obviously, that would be Rita Ora.Rita Ora is ranked in the 19th place.She’s known for her career in the music industry and in cinematography.Rita became famous after featuring as the main vocalist of DJ Fresh’s single:”Hot Right Now”. After that she continued her career in music becoming one of the most listened singers from all around the world.
