Missy Elliot has recently achieved another success. She is the first female Hip Hop artist to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“This is an incredible honor. I am so humbled and grateful to be among all the incredible honorees,” Missy said in a statement. “Hearing that I’m the first female hip hop artist ever to be nominated for the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame?!? Wow!! This is much different as I hope it opens doors for other women!”
Other nominees for this award include artists such as Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper and George Michael. The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place this fall with the date, location and more information to be announced at a later date.
