The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hollywood, California. The landmark has more than 2,700 stars along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, but not one of them belongs to the Kardashians.
The attraction welcomes around 10 million visitors a year, having your name inscribed there sounds like something every celebrity would want, however not everyone qualifies for one.
Although Kim Kardashian and her family are among the most popular stars of the screen, their achievements are due to their personality and not to the interpretation of a character. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce only allows stars with names belonging to actors, directors, producers, musicians, theater/musical groups and fictional characters.
So unfortunately, being famous and a billionaire is not enough for Kim to immortalize her name in the emblematic area.
“Part of the criteria to be honored is receiving awards such as Emmys, SAG Awards, Oscars, etc., in the category of television, live performance on stage, or films. They must have a career in the acting industry for five years or more,” said a representative from The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Kim hopes to become the first screen star with a monument on the Walk of Fame. “There was a quote where someone said that screen stars will never get their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she said. “I’m so competitive that I think it would be a great achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would like to break expectations.” – declared Kim.
