Stylist Virgil Abloh passed away a short time ago after battling cancer for more than two years. He was the artistic director of menswear for Louis Vuitton with an impressive line of work in the fashion industry. Virgil Abloh was named creative director of menswear at LV in 2018. He launched his clothing line, Off-White, in 2013 and has gained a large audience for his collections. Kanye, on the other hand, had collaborated with LV more than ten years ago and his athletes were a huge success among fashion professionals. Annual sales also crossed the $ 1.5 billion mark in 2019. With its separation from life, the French fashion house is considering a replacement.
According to a recent media report it was reported that before his death last month, Virgil Abloh and Kanye West had discussed the possibility of Kanye taking the position of late stylist at the French company. It is also learned that Kanye is being considered for the position of creative director at Louis Vuitton, at the moment. A source close to them shared Kanye’s position on the subject and said: “Kanye is devastated by Virgil’s death because they had been friends for years and worked hard together.”
They also added, “They shared a similar vision and now Kanye feels he owes Virgil to continue his work at Louis Vuitton.”
There is no confirmation from the rapper and it remains to be seen if he will further enter the fashion industry with such a position.
