Doja Cat has canceled her performance at the BRIT Awards due to Covid-19 infections on her team. The Kiss Me More singer will take to the stage at the O2 Arena in London on February 8 alongside Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, Liam Gallagher, Dave and BRITs Rising Star winner Holly Humberstone. However, on Monday, she announced that some positive Covid-19 scores within her team have prevented them from performing.

“Unfortunately due to Covid-19 infection cases within my team, I will no longer be performing at BRITs,” she announced on Twitter. “My team and I have been in rehearsals for weeks and despite the utmost care, many members of my team (both on and off stage) have tested positive with Covid. It just isn’t safe for us to keep rehearsing together and putting each other at risk. I look forward to performing for my UK fans as soon as I can. “Take care of yourself,” she wrote.

Representatives for the price show have repeated her post, but have not yet revealed her replacement.

It is unclear whether Doja will still be present at the ceremony, as she has been nominated as International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for “Kiss Me More”.

The BRIT Awards 2022 will be led by Mo Gilligan, and on the red carpet will be led by Clara Amfo and Maya Jama.
