The Cannes Film Festival has officially started, which will last until May 28. This year Eva Longoria, Lashana Lynch and Julianne Moore were introduced on the red carpet where they accompanied the stars at the opening ceremony of the 75th edition of this festival. The festival was canceled in 2020 due to strict measures against the Covid 19 pandemic, but the red carpet of this edition shone again. In the competition are films from all five continents, foreign authors and directors.
Premieres include “Top Gun: Maverick” (starring Tom Cruise) and Elvis (starring Austin Butler), as well as 21 other films vying for the Festival’s prestigious Golden Palm Award.
Also in a statement issued by the organizers recently it was said that the Cannes Film Festival wants to give all its support to the people of Ukraine, taking a stand on the war in Ukraine and stopping the Russian delegations in its 75th edition.
The Cannes Film Festival lasts 11 days and will end with the awards gala evening on May 28.
