Famous rapper Drakeo The Ruler has lost his life at the age of 28 after being stabbed backstage at a festival in Los Angeles. The artist’s real name was Darrell Caldwell.
The “Talk to Me” rapper was scheduled to perform at the festival where he was attacked Saturday night at the Once Upon a Time concert in LA, where several artists were expected to play, including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ice Cube.
According to the L.A. Fire Department, a man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after being stabbed. Media sources reported that the man transported by the festival was Drakeo the Ruler. It was initially reported that the rapper was seriously injured, then it was learned that he had passed away, while the reasons for the attack are not yet known. As a result of the tragedy, shortly after 22:00, attendees at the concert were informed that the festival had ended earlier and 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg were unable to perform.
Caldwell, started releasing mixtapes in 2015 and last February debuted his first album “The Truth Hurts”, which has been rated as “the most original style in the West Coast” for his lyrics. His “Thank You for Using GTL” mix contains verses recorded at Central Men’s Prison in Los Angeles. Previously, the rapper had problems with the law. He was released in 2019 on charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder, following the murder of a 24-year-old in 2016. He was further released from custody in November 2020 after reaching a plea agreement.
